| I have researched the family history of my maternal grandfather, Maurice Napolean LaMarche of Oak Park, IL who is descended from Urbain Tessier dit Lavigne. Urbain Tessier received the 8th land grant for the settlement of Montreal Canada in the 1640's. He married Marie Archambault of LaRochelle, France in 1648. Another line of research is the family history of my paternal grandfather, Frank Polito of Forest Park, IL. He emigrated from Termini-Imerese, Sicily (Palermo) in 1913. In this case, the geneology is primarily maternal going back to 1702 in Termini-Imerese, Sicily. My wife, Marianne, has her family history that has been traced to Daniel Cone, an original settler in the settlement of Connecticut, and Cyrus Cone and his 5 brothers, who served in the Revolutionary War. Based on this research by her sister, Karen, she was inducted into the Daughters of the American Revolution on December 13, 2008. |
