Robert & Dolly Polak of Erie, Pa.

We have done research on my family on my father's and mothers side. My parents came to the United States from what is now Slovakia, from Pohorela. They settled in Johnstown, Pa where my father worked for Bethlehem Steel. My mother,Frances Garec, was born in Youngstown.Ohio but her parents went back to Slovakia when she was three years old.

My wife's ancestors also came to the United States from Slovakia.
Her father, John T. Hlivko, and mother, Mary Mihaly were born her. My wife's name is Dolores Hlivko Polak. Her grandmother on her father's side was Mary Buchovecky. All of my wife's family as well as mine settled in Johnstown, Pa.
