Maynard Thompson was born at 709 Main Street, Laurel, Maryland and his wife, Cecilia Bertling, was born on Scaggsville Road. They attended school at St. Mildred in Laurel, Maryland. After graduation Maynard and Cecilia were married in St. Mary's. They lived in Bowie, Maryland and had two children. Maynard joined the Army and served oversees during WWII. His parents lived on Main Street until their deaths. Maynard worked for the Department of Agriculture, Fish & Wildlife, and finally the National Arboretum. They built their home and moved to Annapolis, Maryland. This site is dedicated to their memory by their daughter, Mary Louise Polk |
