Jerry Barnes was born about 1817 in North Carolina, as for his parent's. There is no information on his parent's. There have been stories told that Jerry Barnes was married to someone name Louisa (maiden name unknown). When we checked the 1870 census the only Jerry Barnes we found was in Pike County, Mississippi was married to someone name Patsy. She was born in Mississippi and her parent's were born in Virginia. Could this be Louisa and they are calling her Patsy for a nickname? In the 1870 census, the following peoples are listed in Jerry Barnes household: Jerry Barnes (50), Patsy (50), Harry (21) and a female name Ally (16). Colud this Ally be Precilla? If Patsy is not Louisa, then Louisa died and Jerry Barnes married someone name Patsy. In the 1880 census Jerry Barnes and Patsy were still living. I believe this is Harry and Precilla father. When Harry Barnes, Sr got married he was still living within close range around Jerry and Patsy. Harry and Precilla habe both stated in the census that their father was born in North Carolina and their mother was born in Mississippi. The only information found on Louisa was her name on her daugther's death certificate. When we started researching Jerry Barnes and his descendents we were told Harry Sr, and Precilla had three other sister and they are Hagar, Dinah and Artimese. We have not found any information on these sisters. I was told Artimese had two daughters and their names are Virgina and Katie. Virgina was a schoolteacher in Pike County, Mississippi for years. She was married to saomeone name L S Jones.
