Several Pool Families settled in Scioto County, Ohio prior to 1820 and are shown on the records and census for that county. They include William Pool, George Andrew Pool Sr., Peter Pool, Jacob Pool, and Joseph Pool. Their relationship to the author's ancestor, Andrew Pool, has not been determined but it is thought that some are related. Andrew Pool was the guardian of several minor children of George Andrew Pool Sr. in 1821, and the birthdates of those children are recorded on a slip of paper which is still with the Andrew Pool Bible. A Jacob Pool and Andrew Pool were listed in the Wantage Militia of Sussex County, New Jersey in 1793 and a Andrew Pool sold land in Wantage Township, Sussex County in 1775. Census records for Andrew Pool and some of his children suggest that he was born in New Jersey and the author believes it may be Sussex County, New Jersey. Information supporting or disproving his place of birth or identity of parents would be appreciated.
