Jerry and Harvey Mangum brothers born to Sam Mangum & Miranda Thomas in Granville County, North Carolina. Jerry was born in 1816 and Harvey in 1835 Jerry and Harvey migrated to Arkansas. They changed the spelling of their last name after arriving in Arkansas from Mangum to Mangrum. Jerry married Bettie Bailey also of Granville County and they had 10 childrens(Nerous, Bertha, Ulyssis, Dan, Van, Isiah, Tilda, Bell, Johnnie B., and Viola) Ulyssis married Zelora Coleman, daughter of George Washington Coleman and Willie Augusta Stennis. I am(Raymond Pool) the son of Burnell Mangrum and Grandson of Ulyssis and Zelora Mangrum. Great Grandson of George W. Coleman and Willie A. Stennis.

Harvey married Martha Keath in 1859, after Harvey's death in Arkansas it is believed that Martha returned to her family in North Carolina and took back the original spelling of the last name (Mangum).

My maternal Great-grandparents, George Washington Coleman & Willie Augusta Stennis were both born in Mississippi and moved to Arkansas where they had 8 childrens (Zelora, George, Idella, Sally, Zanola, Orie B., Nelson and Willie B.)after the death of his first wife Willie Augusta George married Daisy Welch in 1921 and to this union 4 childrens were born (Cawance, Azar, Alza Lee and Lagree).

I married Margaret Minor, daughter of Asa and Erminee (Cannon) Minor, Granddaughter of Leonard and Ruth (White)Cannon, Great-Granddaughter of George & Annie (Turner) Cannon.
