1.  WILLIAM1 BILLINGS was born Abt. 1629 in Taunton, Somerset, England, and died 16 Mar 1713 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut.  He married MARY 12 Feb 1658 in Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts.  She died Abt. 1718 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut.

--"The name was Billing in England, but in this country shortly became Billings.  William was son of William Billing of Deanes, Taunton, a descndant of Sir Thomas Billing by his wife Katherine Giffard, who belonged to the historic family of Giffard.---It seems likely that it was his son William rather than himself who was a volunteer in King Philip's War."

She was born Abt. 1674 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut.  He married (2) ANNA COMSTOCK 01 Mar 1680, daughter of DANIEL COMSTOCK and PALTIAH/PELATIAH ELDERKIN.  She was born Abt. 1660, and died Abt. 1727.

He was born 07 Mar 1688 in Chelmsford, Middlesex, Massachusetts, and died 1761 in Plainfield, Windham, Connecticut.

4.  ANNA3 BILLINGS (EBENEZER2, WILLIAM1) was born 07 Oct 1681 in Stonington, Connecticut.  She married SOLOMON HAKES 16 Jan 1718 in Stonington, Connecticut, son of SOLOMON HAKES and UNKNOWN.  

Notes for SOLOMON HAKES:
--as to his sons, the descendants of George or Jonathan had no knowledge of the descendants of Solomon and vice versa
--there is a John Hakes, wife and ten children of the same time period who moved from Windsor to Hadley, Hampshire, Mass.,--
--the name "Hakes" in the United States, in so far as it has been possible to ascertain, originates or commences with Solomon Hakes.
--the author claims he doesn't know Solomon's father, so I may have entered his father incorrectly.  Perhaps, the way I have it was disregarded because of its German nature, when the name is English?
--in other words, maybe, the surname of Hoxie is different rather than a variation on Hakes.
