This is a genealogy of RICHARD PORTER(1611-1688) of Dorchester, England and Weymouth, Massachusetts and some of his descendants continuing down through 13 generations. It is an updated version of some 56 family websites consisting of various families who are direct descendants of RICHARD PORTER or have married into the Porter family line at some time in the past. This work was originally divided into five parts: Part One;THE PILGRIM CONNECTION with 12 family connectons; Part Two; THE GREAT MIGRATION with 21 paternal and 9 maternal family connections; Part Three;THE NOVA SCOTIA CONNECTION with 4 family connections and Part Five; THE JAMESTOWN CONNECTION. This work represents the efforts of the compiler over the last 18 years and is considered to be on going as updates and corrections are discovered.
