Notes for Wilhelm Joseph Zwiener: Alias: Bill /Zwiener/ 1. Christening: godfather is Joseph Fischer, f armer; witnessed by Marianna, wife of Joseph Veith, cottager and Joseph Katze r, farmer; all from Schreibendorf. 2. Death: [obituary for William Zwi ener. It's a Xerox copy dated 4-3-1938 but doesn't include name of newspaper . Says he was born in Germany Aug 28, 1849 and since 1871 lived in Fayette Co. For past 20 years lived in LaGrange, was bereft of his w ife in the year 1922 (doesn't give her name or names of his parents). Two daughters, Minnie Speckels of Houston & Ella Zapp of LaGrange and one son, John Zwiener, New Braunfels, chief srvivors, plus 6 grandchildren & 8 great-grandch. NOW HERE'S THE INFO MY HUSBAND WAS NOT AWARE OF SI NCE HE THOUGHT THERE WERE ONLY BROTHERS WHO CAME FROM GERMANY: " One sister, Mrs. Bertha Mohrhusen of Rutersville also survives." D OES YOUR FATHER KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BERTHA???? Judy Milner previously said she thought there may be a relationship to the Schramm's, like Bertha was William's step-sister & Schramm's were her parents or some rela tive????? Of course, newspapers can be wrong or receive wrong info. Othe r relatives attending funeral were: (1) Ida Zwiener (Wenzel's wife); her two daughters with husbands; and son Charles w/wife (it didn't list Lo nny's dad, Leon, who is also Wenzel's son). This evidence further makes me believe that Wenzel & William were definitely brothers. (2) Mrs. He rmine Schramm & son Alfred, Mrs. Emilie Wolters, Mr/Mrs Edgar Wolters, Flo Wolters, Edwin Wolters, Mr/Mrs H Hollmann, Shiner, Dr/Mrs Joe Koenig, M r/Mrs. John Koenig, Mrs. Ella Clark, Russell Zwiener of San Antonio, Mrs. Ber nice Thompson, Llano; Wilbur Zapp, Bellville; Mr/ Mrs. RG Speckels, Mr/Mrs Edward Stanzel, Mr/Mrs Weldon Zwiener, Houston, Mr/Mrs John Zwiener, N ew Braunfels. I'll send you a copy of the obituary later after I s ee Judy Milner (if you don't have one). PS -- by the way, newspaper said Wm lived with Mr/Mrs CB Zapp with whom he had lived since Mrs. Zwi ener died in 1922. 3.
