Research started with the Porter family, my paternal line, from Lancashire who spread into Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. This was followed by my maternal line, the Headley family, from Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire.
My wife's paternal line was the Gray family from Staffordshire, Gloucestershire, Glamorgan, Warwickshire and Cornwall. Her maternal line, the Summers family, followed a route from Gloucestershire, to Warwickshire and Staffordshire.
Other families playing an important part in the history of these families include, Jennings, Sanders, Durham, Davey and License.
