Portanova family of Purchase, NY:descendants of Giuseppe A.

I am researching the Portanova family of Guardia Lombardi, Italy
in particular the descendants of Giuseppe Antonio Portanova (1869-1929)born in Guardia Lombardi Italy, and Maria Teresa Gradilone (1877-1927) born in San Demetrio, Italy; both died in Purchase, NY. This branch is descended from Michele Portanova (ca.1827-1851) and Antonia Gizzo (ca.1833-?) both of Guardia Lombardi, Italy. The oldest recorded ancestors are Michele Portanova (ca. 1775-1836) and Carmela Caputo (ca. 1782-1842), both of Guardia Lombardi, Provincia di Avellino, Italy.Michele's parents are listed as Donato Portanova (c.1750?-?) and Carmela Grande (c.1750?-?) but the dates are still uncerain.

There have been no reunions yet, though the related Casarella
family just had its first reunion this past November(1999).
