I am searching for information regarding my ancestors. The following information is what I know to be true thus far. My father, John Orville Porter was born in Prescott, Arkansas (Nubbin Hill) Nevada County. He was born March 2, 1906 and died September 25, 1979. He married the former Vada Langrell on December 21,1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas. His parents were Henry Lara Porter born 1881 in Nevada County, Arkansas and died in Pine Bluff Arkansas on March 3, 1929. He was married to the former Leona Russell. Henry's parents were Matthew Talbert (Tig) Porter and Susie Stockton (daughter of E. Stockton and Jane Gracy). Matthew (Tig) Porter was born January 26,1841 in Hempstead County and died November 30, 1897. His parents were Joseph Porter born Abt 1790-1800 in Georgia and died Abt 1848-1850 in Hempstead County Arkansas. He was married to Sarah Rush June 24, 1830 in the old courthouse in Old Washington, Hempstead County, Arkansas. My Mother's parents were John and Fannie Louisa Langrell. Fannie was the daughter of George Washington Linn and Cynthia Parish. Vada was one of nine siblings, Orville Langrell, Burell Langrell,Ruby Langrell, Opal Langrell, Irvin Langrell, Bulah Langrell, Dan Langrell Ray Langrell. |
