I am researching the Daniel Portner family. Daniel married Cristina Feller in Switzerland prior to 1814. They immigrated to the US, landing in New York city, in 1823. They brought at least one son, Daniel born Sep 10, 1814, with them and possibly others. Altogether they had nine children, Isaac, Jacob, Barbara, Cristina, David, Mary, John, Christian, and Daniel (jr?). I don't know who was born where or when except for Daniel jr.

The family settled in Pennsylvania until 1840 when they moved to Richland County, Ohio. Daniel jr married Jane Dye in 1843. They lived on her family farm in Richland county until 1853 when they moved to Orange Township, Noble County, Indiana about 4 miles north of Albion. Daniel died on 3 July, 1858 leaving his wife with 8 children, Louisa, Mary Ann, Henry D., Susan L., William A., Samuel M., Daniel Dye, and Albert F.. Daniel Dye Portner was my great-grandfather. I have very little information on the other lines of Portners from this family. I would appreciate any info.
