WELCOME! I am researching the Horatio PORTER, David HARTSHORN, William SEWARD and Paul JACOBSON Families. Horatio married a Maritta BURR about 1850. He died on May 9, 1906 at the age of 90 in Fargo, ND. Son(s) Llewellyn and Charles D. Llewellyn was born on May 1, 1853 in Buffalo, NY. He married a Elizabeth (Lisa Jane) GREENE in 1886. Their son was John Greene (born in 1891 at Jamestown, ND). Daughter was Luella (born in 1889 at Jamestown, her son was Gerald __?___). Elizabeth PORTER died on July 22, 1909 and Llewellyn on December 7, 1926 in Jamestown, ND. We believe that Horatio migh have been an Indian fighter at Fort Sully, SD in the 1870's. John Greene PORTER married Alma Louise JACOBSON on November 16, 1911 in Mason City, Iowa. My Father was Raymond Charles PORTER who was born on Feburary 29, 1916 in Mason City, Iowa. He married my mother, Ellen May HARTSHORN on December 9, 1939. Her father was Henry Theodore HARTSHORN who died August 6, 1929. He married Anna Stacia SEWARD about 1904 in Iowa. Anna Stacia was born on Sept. 28, 1882 in What Cheer, Iowa. Her father was William Henry SEWARD who died on October 2, 1914 at Valley Junction (West Des Moines), Iowa. His father was William James SEWARD and his mother was Catherine HAYES. William James died on August 26, 1872 from an accident on the dam being built at Sandusky, Iowa.
