| All of my ancestors came to the United State in the years 1868 to 1900 from Pomerania or Posen and settled near Butler, SD. Daniel F. (b.1828)and Charlotte Ruhnke Witt (b.1840) sailed on the Charlotte in 1868 after living near Stolp and christening two children in Buckow. I located this family in Germans to America but it did not give any clues as to village of birth. Friedrich Emil Heinrich Urban (b.1873) was the son of Friedrich (son of Wilhelm) and Augusta Geske Urban from Posen and came over just before 1900 following his uncles Carl, John and August and siblings Justine, Juluis, Emilie, Caroline, Hulda, Rudolph and Herman. He married Pauline Luckow. Many Urban descendants live in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota and the Kalispell, MT area. Friedrich Wilhelm (b.1846)and Augustiene Pautsch Luckow (b.1844)came to the US in 1886. They were from Guentersburg and Brusevitz respectively. Michael and Sophia Luckow were his parents. Karl(b.1849) and Wilhelmina Burse Kruger (b.1855) came over in 1889. They were from Czarnikau or Smirdow. Any information on these people or their descendants would be appreciated. |
