Wiley Carter is the great-great-grandfather of President Jimmy Carter of Plains, Georgia. He is also my great-great-great- grandfather.*************My information indicates that Wiley Carter was born in 1798 and died in 1864. I believe that he was married two times: once to Sarah Wilson producing a son, Sterling Gibson Carter, and once to Ann Ansley producing Armanda, Ann, Caroline, Calvin, Euphrasia, Littleberry, Jane, Julia, Louisiana, Jesse and Wiley Carter, Jr.**************They lived on the family farm in what is now Schley County, Georgia (near Ellaville, Georgia) but was then known as Quebec, Georgia.**************Family names include Carter, Ford, Beckwith, Davis, Hart, Seals, Mize, Rumph, McGarrah, Jones, Spivey, Wilson, Wallis, Ray, Pratt, Jenkins, Battle, Deriso, Burt, Walters, Clark, Blackwell, Slappey, Jennings, Gay, Fleming, Gordy, Lowery, McMichael, Lucey, Shotten, Ballinger, Goosby, Hopkins, Williams, McQuaig, Byrd and Asters.***************I am trying to trace all direct descendents of Wiley Carter and establish contact with all living relatives. I currently have limited "hearsay" information on the descendants of Littleberry Walker Carter and Jesse Taliaferro Carter. I have just begun my research and would appreciate hearing from anyone with pertinent information.
