In the winter of 1773, when John Sevier and Sarah Hawkins his wife moved from New Market, Va, to Tn, they settled in the Watauga Settlement, which is located in Present day Washington and Greene Counties, Tennessee. John Sevier and Sarah with all their little kids arrived at the Watauga Settlement on a cold Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1773.
