Moved to Brownington, MO where some of the children were born.He moved to the Black Hills, South Dakota before the Civil War, and then on to the opening of the Cherokee Strip in OK.He is listed on land records: 1893 Pawnee Co with property Sect 7, Twp 23, Rg 5, which is just across the road from son Charles.Descendants say that he was in the Civil War but proof has not been found.In later years he lived in Ralston, OK and suffered a stroke while visiting his son George in Wichita, KS
