Notes for Allen G. Therman Bausell: Allen (sometimes known as "Sheck") bred, raised, trained and sold hunting dogs in the Ozarks of MO. During a hunting outing, Allen accidently shot off his own hand and from then on wore a grey sock on his stub.
Per Allen's grandaughter Brenda, Allen went into hiding for 7 years (statute of limitations) after being involved in a deadly shooting when a jealous husband found him with his wife.
While on his way home from visiting his son Allen Jr. in Tennessee, Allen was discovered in a ditch somewhere around Springfield, MO. He died of complications (pneumonia) after being robbed, beaten, and thrown in a ditch and left for dead. Per the Dr's story, Allen said 3 unknown male adults accosted him and threw him into their car. According to the Dr., he said that he fought them the whole time. The Dr. agreed that he was a tough old buzzard. No arrests or charges were ever made.
