I have also put this information on Ancestry.com. I started doing this to find out about my great grandfather, John Powers. This branch is supposedly related to Louisa May Alcott by way of her father. I haven't proven that as yet and the relationship I was given is not correct. I'm also very interested in my gg-grandmother Marinda Louisha (Garris) Layton. She was born in North Carolina according to the 1880 census, but somehow ended up in Indiana. I have put most of the information from "Ancestors and Decendants of Abraham Hammer 1683-1983" by Harriette J. Hammer(2nd edition), online. Anyone born after 1920 is listed with birth year only (unless they are deceased). This is to make research possible but prevent identity theft at the same time. Happy Hunting.... |
