Eli Poyner, who was afflicted with a cancer,
and who had been forced to bear intense suffering
during the past four months, ended his earthly existence at 6:30 A.M., Friday, and arrangments
are being made for his funeral on Saturday.
Mr. Poyner was a little past fifty years old and 
resided here for several years. The family is left in rather destitute circumstances.- Fairfax Forum.
The Poyners were pioneer residents of Rock Port and we believe Eli was born here.
