Alma Blanche Ayers, 86, of Ramer, Died Sept. 8 at McNairy County General
Hospital.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Ramer Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Maude Reeder and William Oscar
Wallace.
Survivors include her husband, Walter H. Ayers; three sons, Wallace Ayers
and George Ayers, both of Ramer and William W. Ayers of Jackson; two
daughters, Mrs Helen Curtis of Orlando, Fla. and Mrs Louise Kirk of Ramer;
six sisters, Mrs. Lucy Mae Wallace, Mrs Mildred Seele and Mrs. Ruth Patrick,
all of Ramer, Mrs Cynthia Jones and Mrs. Frances Bransetter, both of Selmer,
and Mrs Madelyn Hamilton of Berkley Heights, N.J.; 18 grandchildren and 22
great grandchildren.

Walter H. Ayers, 95, of Ramer died on July 9, 1988 at McNairy County General Hospital after a long illness.
Services were held at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with David Powell officiating. Burial was in Ramer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby Ayers, Danny Ayers, Billy Ayers, Ronnie Ayers, Roger Ayers and Mike Curtis.
He was the son of the late Walter C. and Louise Goethe Ayers and the widower of Alma Wallace Ayers. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include three sons, Wallace Ayers and George Ayers, both of Ramer and William W. Ayers of Jackson; two Daughters, Helen Curtis of Orlando, FL and Louise Kirk of Ramer; a brother Robert Ayers of Rolla, MO; a sister, Cora Phelps of Rolla; 18
grandchildren; and 27 grandchildren.

Ramer, Tenn.-The driver of a highway roadscraper was killed when a wooden
bridge over Crows'Creek collapsed under the heavy machine. He was W. H.
Wallace, 55, of Ramer.
W.H. Kirkpatrick, McNairy County highway commissioner, said Wallace was
returning to work after lunch when the bridge crumpled, dumping the
roadscraper into the creed bank below.
Mr. Wallace was pinned under the machine.
Services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at Ramer Baptist Church, Revs,
Donald Hopper and Theron McCloud ofdficiating, Burial in Ramer Cemetery,
Shackelford Funeral Home in charge.
He leaves hisd wife, Mrs. Lessie Wallace of Ramer; a son William D. Wallace
of Ramer; a Brother, James Wallace of Ramer, and seven sisters, Mrs. Blanche
Ayers, Mrs. Madelyn Hamilton, Mrs. Mildred Selle and Miss Lulcy Mae Wallace,
all of Ramer; Mrs Cynthia Jones and Mrs. Frances Branstetter of Selmer, and

Lessie I. Wallace, 84, of Ramer, died November 11, 1993 at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, MS after a long illness.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Shackelford Funeral Home chapel with Donald Hopper and Jetta Forsythe officiating. Burial followed in Ramer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were; Tom Taylor, David Lawson, Bill Miller, Wayne Elam, George Armstrong and Ronald Summers.
The daughter of the late Maudie Jane Robertson Ingle and Luther Ingle, she was retired from A. B. Hamm General Store, a city recorder for the town of Ramer for many years, was a retired teacher and a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Don Wallace of Ramer; two grandchildren, Chad Wallace and Adam Wallace both of Ramer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wm. Henry Wallace.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Gravel Hill Primitive Baptist Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary #2418.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Willia Reeder Wallace and William Oscar Wallace; her husband, Bryan Jones; one daughter, Joyce Redmon; two sons, Donald Malvern Jones and Garland Jones; two sisters, Blanche Ayers and Lucy Mae

grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Furneral services were held Thursday, April 16, 1998 at the Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Pallbearers were Bill Patrick, Frank Doucette, Tim Wood, Bryce Rickie, Ralph Wise and Tim Redmon. Interment was in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Eastview.

Cynthia Jones, 89
SELMER, Tenn. -- Funeral services for Cynthia Mary Jones, 89, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Eastview, Tenn.
Mrs. Jones died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at McNairy County General Hospital. She was a member of Gravel Hill Primitive Baptist Church and a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary #2418.
Survivors include one daughter, Opal Huggins of Selmer; four sisters, Frances Branstetter and Mildred Selle, both of Selmer, Ruth Patrick of Ramer, Tenn. and Madelyn Hamilton of Berkley Heights, N.J.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and

50th Wedding Anniversary --- William Bryan Jones and Cynthia May Wallace were married October 1, 1926. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary with an open house from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 1976, at the home of their
daughter, Mrs. Opal Boatman, on highway 45 South.
This special occasion will be hosted by their four children, Mrs. Boatman, and Mrs.. Joyce Redmon of Selmer, Tenn., Donald Malvern Jones of Lexington, Tenn., and Garland Jones of Jonesboro, Ark. No invitations arae being sent.

Tech Sergeant Wendall B. Huggins, age 69, died on Thursday, October 1, 1998, at Methodist Healthcare-McNairy in Selmer of heart failure. He was retired from the Air Force, a member of the First baptist Church in Selmer, the Veterans Foreign Wars,
the Air Force Sergeant Association, the Royal Order of the Moose Lodge #132, and the Honored Veteran-Vietnam and Korean War.
Services took place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 1998 at the Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at Shiloh National Military Park in Shiloh, TN. Officiating the service was Rev. Max Walker.

Donald Malvern Jones, 68, retired machinist for Brown Shoe Compnay, died of cancer Friday, February 20 at the Alvin C. York Veterans Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 22 at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, TN, with burial in Lexington City Cemetery. He was a Navy veteran.
He leaves a daughter, Donna Williams of Murfreesboro; a son, Marty D. Jones of Lexington; his mother, Cynthia Jones of Selmer; a sister, Opal Huggins of Selmer; four grandchildren and a greatgrandchild.

Kenneth Garland Jones, 60, of Jonesboro, AR died November 2,
1991 at his home after a long illness. Services were held at
1:00 p.m. Monday in Farmers Union Funeral Chapel with E. Winston
Burton officiating. Pall Bearers were Doug Gilmore, Bill Miles,
George Turner, Jim Hardin, Mickey Schisler, and Richard Flemon.
