HULDAH⁷ WESTCOTT (STEPHEN⁶, STUKELY⁵, STUKELY⁴, STUKELY³, JEREMIAH², STUKELY¹) was born 22 September 1776 in Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and died 28 September 1855 in Galway, Saratoga County, Massachusetts (probably). She married PETTIT SMITH Bef. 1796 in Galway, Saratoga County, New York. He was born 1770, and died 31 August 1837.

Notes for HULDAH WESTCOTT:
Stephen 1st poll tax record 1776 in Sheffield, Massachusetts. Phillip CALLENDER was one of first settlers in Sheffield. Land in Sheffield was willed to Stephen and Sarah Callender WESTCOTT by Phillip CALLENDER. By 1880 there is no record of Stephen in Sheffield, MA. The 1800 census of Saratoga Co., shows a Sarah WESCUTT, head of household, next to James CLIBE, who married Huldah, dau. of Stephen and Sarah WESTCOTT. A Jeremiah WESTCOTT and a Samuel WESTCOTT were also early in Greenfield, Saratoga Co., NY. Greenfield was part of Ballstown until 1793. All of this ties into the Stukely WESTCOTT family of Cheshire, Berkshire Co. migration thru Massachusetts to Saratoga Co., New York. (sic) Per The WESTCOTT Family Tree book, page 51. Should the year be 1780 in the 2nd line above? If it's 1880, Stephen would be over 100 years old.
In the above statement it says James CLIBE married Huldah, but in the children's list Huldah married Pettit SMITH.
Laura Ann married Rev. James CLIZBE - is he the same person as James CLIBE mentioned in the paragraph above? Is it CLIZBE or CLIBE?
Did Laura or Huldah marry him?

V. II p. 347. Land records of Stephentown, New York show him to be in Stephentown. Bought land in 1795 Ballston Spa, NY. From History of Saratoga Co., by Sylvester, "Even in 1792 the tourist came thru the forests from Schenectady and all over...all the homes were filled with guests in 1794." Other early settlers were the Major brothers, James and John; James Clizbe (Clibe) and Petit Smith, a collector in Galway 1797, a town cut from Ballstown. James Clizbe married Laura Ann Westcott, dau. of Stephen and Sarah (Callendar) [Westcott] of Sheffield, MA. Petti Smith married Huldah Westcott, sister of Laura Ann. It is believed that Stephen Westcott of Sheffield and Major Westcott of Rotterdam, NY were a part of this family.
