Peter Benware Dies Peter M. Benware, 74, of Charlestown died after a long illness Tuesday evening at the home of his son Leon in Alstead where he had made his home for the past two years. Another son, Ernest Benware of Charlestown, died Saturday. Peter Benware was born in Charlestown February 24, 1883, son of Peter and Mary (Fortune) Benware. He was a lifelong resident and retired from the Fellows Gear Shaper Co. in 1946. He attended St. Catherine's Church. He is survived by four sons, Leon Benware of Alstead, Arthur Benware of Hartford, Conn., Edward Benware of Longbranch, N.J. and George Benware of Claremont. Mr. Benware leaves three daughters, Mrs. Evelina Benware of Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. Regina Newton of Chester Depot, Vt., and Mrs. Helen Billings of South Royalton, Vt.; one sister, Mrs. Ralph Cheever of Springfield, Vt.; three brothers, George Benware of Farmington, Maine, Edward Benware of Claremont and Leon Benware of Charlestown; 15 grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at nine o'clock in St. Catherine's Church in Charlestown. Rev. Ernest Gagnon will be celebrant of the high Mass of requim. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery. Friends may call at the McCusker funeral home in Claremont Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
