Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, 11 a.m. at Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church for Ruby Jewell Meadows, 76, of Wittensville, KY, who passed away Saturday, July 3 at her residence. Mrs. Meadows was born August 18, 1927 in Floyd County, KY, daughter of the late S.B. Sam and Merinda Walters Williamson. She was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Rudolph Williamson; one sister, Irene McCloud. Surviving are her husband, Vencil Meadows; three sons, Michael Leon Meadows of Staffordsville, KY, Donovan Keith Meadows of Flat Gap, KY, and Timothy Gordon Meadows of Lexington, KY; two brothers, Wallace Williamson of Williamsport, KY, and Roger Williamson of Paris, KY; two sisters, Elizabeth Scarberry of Creston, OH, and Kay Rucker of Navarre, FL; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren; special friend, Erie Brown. The service was officiated by James Kelly Caudill, Larry Meadows, and Chuck Slone, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, KY. Arrangements under the direction of the Jones - Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville, KY.

Vencil Meadows, Died: Friday, September 14, 2007, Age: 85
Johnson County — Vencil Meadows, 85, of Wittensville, died Friday, Sept. 14, at St. Joseph East, Lexington. Born July 13, 1922, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late Milt and Lottie Witten Meadows. He was a retired coal operator and a Deacon at Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Williamson Meadows, in 2004. Survivors include three sons, Mike Meadows of Staffordsville, Donnie Meadows of Flat Gap, and Tim Meadows of Lexington; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with James Kelly Caudill, Larry Joe Meadows, Chuck Slong, and Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville
