I am looking for any links to Fleury families from IRELAND, BROOKLYN or other NEW YORK, VT, PA, MASS who may have ancestors related to Robert D Fleury (1832-1875) or stumble upon information that may be connected.It is my understanding we may be related to northeast areas of Fleury's.
Family lore is that our GGgrandfather (or earlier) came from "upstate" NY, and married a Native American in northern NY. She had lived on a reservation. I think perhaps Josephine Dawson Heald is that link, but then the story does not pan out however--over the years from generation to generation, things get changed, enhanced etc--Robert and Isabella were clearly from Ireland. I have traced her parents, both from NY Joseph Henry Heald (1842-1882)amd Margaretta`Foster's (1845-?) parents sister Mary E Heald B 1869.
Robert D and Isabella Stephenson (Fleury) were from Ireland, and can first be found on the 1870 census. I do not have any information prior to 1870. He died in 1875, but I have found everyone in his family, up through 1930. Isabella (Stephenson) is first found on the 1850 census, as a child. Isabella died in 1909.
I am specifically looking for information regarding Robert D Fleury (B-1833 D-1875) and Isabelle or Isabella (Stephenson)Fleury (B-1837 D-Mar 1909 ) . They or their families immigrated to Canada or New York, and eventually settled in Brooklyn NY. There is no record of their immigration that I have found in either country. Robert, Isabella and family are first found on the US census of 1870. I have located Isabella's family back to 1850 in the US, Brooklyn, NY. I have no parental or other family information on Robert D. Fleury--but of course am searching for some connections, and answers. Also looking for links to Ann and James Stephenson, Isabella Stephenson Fleury's parents.

I have found the whole family on the 1870 census, Isabella and children 1880 Census, Isabella living with her son George on 1900 census. I have also traced Robert J and James H through 1930...
George W Fleury (B-Dec 1871 D-July 30 1903) {My GGgrandfather}
married Joesphine Dawson Heald. I have located her father and mother information.
I have hit a brick wall, and have been searching for 3 years for this very important key in researching my family heritage. Any help, links etc to help me locate parentage of Robert D Fleury would be sincerely appreciated.
I have been through a lot of Irish websites, and Griffith's evaluation and do not see anything that allows me to make a connection to any Fleury's I have been able to find in Ireland. Any guidance or specific information is welcomed...If you have any information or run across any information that might be related to this search, please contact me.
On the good side of things, this research has led me to distant cousin(s)...and I am tickled...he is now also working on putting this tree together...But Robert D is a problem for both of us...it seems like he just "appeared" in Brooklyn NY...no sign of him anywhere prior to that. Country of origin is Ireland as is Isabella's.
