This is the Home Page for the Robert Rush MOTON family. Robert MOTON and his wife Mary Elizabeth FULLER were married on June 1, 1871 and lived in (Then Walla Walla County) Columbia County Washington State. I am looking for anyone having information on the parents (born in Georgia) of Robert. He was born in Alabama and relocated to the Oregon Territory (after 1846) at a young age. Robert was in a home for orphens in Walla Walla sometime after 1850. There are two stories from family members about Robert. 1. He was found on the Oregon Trail and did nto not know his exact birth date. 2. His father died, his mother remarried and died. Robert would not stay with his step-father after coming out West and was placed in the home for orphens in Walla Walla, WA. He had one brother who went by Morton, that lived in Florida (Montana after 1928 with a daughter) that Robert hit in the mouth with a hatchet when they were young in Alabama. One of Robert's daughers wrote every Postmaster in Alabama asking if he knew of this event and the letter was send on to the brother in Florida. She was married to Ed Williams when she graduated. Merle Jones about 10 years old (7 KB) From same school photo as Leo Wayne. Merle was Wayne's younger brother. Merle with Grandma Rosie (8 KB) Rosella MOTON-JONES-BRAND with Uncle Merle at the Long Star Dairy in Clarkston, WA Gladys Turner Jones about 13 years old. (20 KB) Gladys loved to ride horses.
