* My Family Tree - As Researched By My Dad, Ian P Presland*

Updated October 21, 2004

This, my family tree, was researched by my dad, Ian Pearson Presland over many many years. As well as researching my family tree for his relatives he also traced relatives of my mum. That way he once told me, 'I would know where I came from'.

My dad died of cancer on the 1st January 2002 and by posting this, his work and passion, in a small way I am paying tribute to him. People who met him would know that he was both a kind and sincere man who died too young. We miss him greatly.

As well as researching the family tree he went to great lengths to preserve for me, photos of the family in proper albums. The pictures go back generations as far as the 1890s. They were all precisely labelled so that I would know who the people were. They were not in any particular order, just added to the albums as he chose. Whilst these photographs are now treasured heirlooms, I am 'publishing' them on the internet. There are however hundreds of pictures to upload and this will take time. I have started with 100+ photographs on the Presland side and have just started on the Whale Family pictures. To view the pictures, please follow the link below. If you care to join the 'community', when more pictures are added I can email you. By way of explanation, the relationships referred to in the Presland pictures are the relationships between the person depicted and my dad. The relationships referred to in the Whale pictures are the relationships between the person depicted and my mum, Lesley Presland (Nee Whale).
