Our family history dates back to the first settlement of Western Australia from 1831. The ancestry being researched are as follows:John Connolly born 15 September 1800 in Armatris Parish in or near the town of Codehile, County Monaghan Ireland. John was in the 63rd Regiment of Foot,Light Infantry and came to the Swan River Western Australia in 1831 on board the vessel "H.M.S. Sulphur". He was later to marry Mary Spice and begin his family.
Three brothers and a sister came to the Shores of Western Australia from Scotland in the 1830-40's. Donald, John and Duncan Macpherson. Donald & John arrived on the vessel "Hindoo" in May 1839.
