Price -- MacDonald -- Myer Family Tree
Price -- MacDonald -- Myer Family TreeUpdated July 19, 2003 | |
Lynn Ann Price | I am researching my mother's side of the family, which includes MacDonalds and Myers' surnames. The MacDonalds have been traced back to Elisha John McDonald Sr., born in 1786 in Maryland. He married Sarah Dew, born in 1795 in Maryland. Together, they came to Ohio in 1814 as the first two people to establish a home in what is now known as Perry County, Ohio. I would be interested in knowing when exactly the MacDonalds migrated to America, and from where in Scotland they lived before coming here. My research has not yet crossed the Atlantic, and that is my next hurdle. My grandfather's family is quite a mystery. I don't have much information to go on for this branch of the family tree. I have procrastinated on this because I believe it will be a huge challenge. Here's what I know: Nellie Bondrovish (b.1884, d.1976) married Bartel Franz. Nellie was supposedly a Polish immigrant and Bartel's parents were immigrants from Germany. They had six children, one of which is my maternal grandfather. My great grandmother's family is the Myers/Shires (also Shiers) surname. The farthest I have been able to take this branch back is to Sarah Katherine Hank (b.1819) who married Christopher Shires (b.1814). Most of the work I have done is related to the Rio Grande, Ohio area. My dad's family, the Price side, is an even greater mystery. I haven't even begun working on it yet! |
