We are researching the CHOLLETT, PRINCE, HIGHT, and ALLISON families. Other related family names we are researching are: BURNETT, CAUBLE, CONSTANT, HÜLS (HULS), ICE, JACKSON, MATTHEWS, MCEWEN, PATTERSON, RUSSELL, SCHORNACK (TSCHORNAK), SCHWERDTFEGER, SOMMERLATTE, STEWARD, STRODE, STROHMEYER (STROHMEIER), VAN, WAGNER, WEATHERSBY, WARD, WOOD.

At present there are over 17,000 individuals in this database. I will be glad to share information. Please contact me if you think we might be able to help each other with our research. A little information for the earliest known person in some of these families is given below:

William ALLISON and his wife Rebecca RUSHING were married in 1847 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He moved to Texas with some of his children before 1880.

John BURNETT, born ca. 1610 in Aberdeen, Scotland, married Lucretia (maiden name unknown) about 1657. They had 6 known children. John died 1686 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia, USA. Their descendants lived in Tennessee and Texas.

Simon CHOLET, b. ca. 1637 in Vacresse in Picardie, France. Simon immigrated to Prussia between 1682-1691 because of the persecution of the Hugenots. He was married to Marie LeRoute, and they had five known children. Six generations later, two of his descendants immigrated from Potzlow, Prussia to the USA - one to Texas and one to Iowa. )see next paragraph)

Johann Friedrich CHOLLETT (or CHOLET) was born in 1829 and immigrated Prussia to Colorado County, Texas, USA, in 1868. Johann CHOLLETTT was married to Marie SCHWERDTFEGER and had nine children. His brother, Karl CHOLLET (or CHOLET) immigrated from Prussia to Iowa. Karl was born in 1822 and married Emilie SCHWARTZ. Karl and Emilie had ten children. These two Chollett families are beginning to get to know each other now!

Louis CONSTANT was born ca. 1808 in Prussia, immigrated to Texas, USA, in 1848, arriving in Galveston, Texas. He was married to Charlotte (maiden name unknown), and they had three children that we know of. Their daughter, Mariane, married 1) Robert WAGNER, and 2) Ernst UHLIG.

John HIGHT, born ca. 1723 in Virginia. He was married to Sarah (or Mary) JONES and Eleanor NICHOLS. He died in Franklin Co., North Carolina ca. 1795. Their descendants lived in Bedford County, Tennessee, and later in Arkansas and Texas.

Simon MATTHEWS was born ca. 1812 in North Carolina and died February 1865 in McLennan County, Texas. His wife was Hanna Caroline ELLIS, and they had twelve children. Hanna was born ca. 1822 in Alabama and died ca. 1875 in Texas.

James PATTERSON was born between 1761-1769 and died ca. 1830 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. His descendants lived primarily in Bedford and Rutherford Counties, Tennessee, and later in Collin County, Texas.

Jonathan H. PRINCE was born September 1832 in Kentucky or Tennessee, and is shown on the 1850 census for Franklin County, Tennessee with his mother, Margaret, and his sister, Sally. He married three times and had eight children. For most of his life he lived in Wayne County, Tennessee.

Johann SCHORNACK (TSCHORNAK) was born 1814 in Dürrbach, Saxony (Germany). He and his wife, Hanna HERENZ (b. 1819) and their five children travelled from Saxony to Texas in 1854 with the Rev. Jan Kilian and other Wendish people in the Saxony area. Two of their children died en route, and three married and raised families in Texas. One of Johann's daughters, Marie, married Johann HÜLS (HULS) in Colorado County, Texas.

Erdmann SOMMERLATTE was born before 1745 (probably in Sachsen-Anhalt (Germany), and married Leopoldine ALBRECHT. Their great-grandson, Karl SOMMERLATTE immigrated to Texas about 1857 and married Katherine STROHMEYER in Colorado County, Texas. She was from Udenhausen, Kassel, Germany.

Thomas Nimrod STEWARD was born 13 March 1856 in Alabama and died 2 August 1921 in Texas (probably Rockwall County). He married Mary Susan LOVING and they had eight children.
