| I am researching the surnames of Proctor, Garrison, Huff, Swaim, Carey, Swires, Dye, Stufflebeam. All were pioneers in southeast Iowa starting in the late 1840's. The Huff's were descendents of James Boy Huff who fought in the War of 1812 and recieved a land grant for fighting in that war. The land was located in what is now Davis County, Iowa. The Proctors and Garrisons migrated from Ohio, both believed to have originated in England and settled in Appanoose and Davis County, Iowa, respectively. I would appreciate any information that might relate to these families and would also share any information I might have on them and their descendents. I am also very interested in any pictures of these individuals or their families. |
