| I am slowly looking into many different parts of my family history, from my father's and mother's side, so you will see many family surnames to follow. I am new at this and have a lot of information (for me in my limited time)to sift through before I can post much here. Please bear with me. Anyone with information on the following family lines please e-mail me.Family surnames:Alexander, Cagle, Hammond, Leach, McEver, Proctor, Reynolds, Steadman, Thompson, and Wise. These are all the various names in my line thus far. Obviously, I have more info on some than others. Some files are quite small, having very minimal info. Most of my families, thus far, have been in the Southeast, ie: GA, AL, SC, and NC. The Cagle branch has been traced back as far as Leonhart Kegel from Germany. I am the g-grandson of Harriette Blanche Cagle and William Henry Proctor and the g-g-grandson of Green Berry Cagle and his first wife Lucy Ann Thaxton. My grandmother on my father's side was a Hammond (Annie Mae). They lived,at least as long as I have known,in Carroll County GA (Old Campbell County GA).Very little more is known of them except that she had a brother Dewey who m a Clara and also a brother Hubert. From my mother's side I have quite a bit of information on the McEver Clan, but very little on the Leach, Alexander, Wise, and Steadman families. I do know that William Henry Proctor's father was John E Proctor (b. ab1827) and m to Amanda Reynolds (b. ab 1833) both from SC, but were living in GA in the 1850's and showed up on the Tallapoosa County AL 1860 census.
