The Protzman Family Tree

Welcome to the Protzman Family Website, this is a work in progress. The family tree is large and growing daily. Currently there are about 1500 individuals.

The first Protzmanns (that we know of)to come to America was in 1743 and 1750. Two brothers were Johann Ludwig Protzmann and Johann Lorenz Protzmann.

J. Ludwig came to America with his wife and first two children. J. Lorentz met his wife (Mary Elizabeth Heintz) here in America. She may have migrated from Kussel, Germany in 1744.

The name has change many times throughout history. The name PROTZMANN was the orginal spelling. Since then it has changed many times. PROTZMAN, PROTTSMAN, PROTSMAN, PRUTZMAN, PRETZMAN, BROTZMAN, BORTZMAN, BRETZMAN and there are still PROTZMANNS in Germany. All Protzmans are related one way or another it is just a matter of proving it.

I am happy to share any and all information I have. If anyone feels uncomfortable having their information posted on this website please contact me and I will "hide" it.

REMEMBER, this is a work in progress, 100% accuracy is the goal, but it will not be achieved overnight. If you find any errors, please contact me so I can make the necessary changes.
