The Pruitt/Harris/Miracle Home Page

I am researching three families.
PRUITT FAMILY - Lived in Arkansas during the early 1800's. James A. Pruitt b. 1874 near Jasper,Arkansas and moved to Oklahoma approx. 1900. James had an older brother, John and a younger sister, Effie. John lived all his life around Jasper Arkansas.

James father's name was Benjamin and mother's name Martha. Benjamin's father's name William Pruit b. 1810, KY or TN, mother unknown (other sibs Obediah, John Henry?); William's father's name David Pruit (Prewitt).

HARRIS FAMILY - My ggf Thomas Knox Harris b. 1848. He was married to Martha Jane Williams, b. 1871. They were married approx. 1890. Daughter married James A. Pruitt, my gf, in Newton Co., AR. Lived near Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Decendants located in West Memphis, TN, Oklahoma, Arkansas. Martha Jane Williams was reported to be of native american ancestry. Her mother Martha Ward, b. Tennessee abt 1849, was said to be a full-blood Cherokee or Blackfeet tribe. Her father, Walter Tilmon Williams was born abt 1840.

MIRACLE FAMILY - My gggf John Dixon Miracle (b. 1834) m. Emily Long (b. 1852). John Dixon Miracle was a traveling missionary and involved in founding of Drury College in Springfield Missouri. John's father was Abraham Miracle, b.1809, Virginia; mother Fanny Wilden b. 1813.
