Don Pruitt of Plainview,Texas

My family research, almost to its fullest degree was done by Haskell Pruett,Phd.,Professor and Department Head Emeritus at Oklahoma State University at Stillwater, Oklahoma.Haskell has written that the most helpful source had been "Pruitt-Prewett Ancestors" by Dr.Charles Dillon printed by the Geneological Research Associates, Los Angeles, California in 1960.

The Pruett-Pruitt connection in our family history came about on October 8,1846 when Ransom Marion Pruett Married Harriett Elizabeth Pruitt in Talledaga County, Alabama. Their fathers were Ansel Beddington Pruett and Tillman Dixon Pruitt Respectively.

The last family reunion attended by me was 1950 or 1951 near Mangum,Oklahoma which was attended by mostly "itt" Pruitts and their families.
