I am researching the "Pujals" surname. My family came from Ponce, Puerto Rico in the mid 1920's. My father, Jose Miguel Pujals, was born on May 5, 1894 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He married Angelita Santiago on June 4, 1921. Angelita came from Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. She was born on October 19, 1986. My grandfather was Jacob Pujals. He was born in 1869 in Puerto Rico and died in June 1906. His occupation was sugar chemist. My grandmother was Basilia Pericas. She was born in 1871 and died in November 1924. I know the name came the from Catalan area of Spain but have not been able to make the connection from Puerto Rico to Spain. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
