Extract of the register of the baptismal certificates marriage and burial in the parish of Laprairie for the year seventeen hundred and fifty.
The 3rd of August in the year seventeen hundred and fifty, after having publish at the parish Mass for three consecutive Sundays, the promise of marriage between Jean Baptiste Giroux, son of Jean Baptiste Giroux and of Agnes Garnier, his father and mother of this parish on the one hand, and Genevieve Dupuy, daughter Charles Dupuy and of the deceased Thérèse Tremblay, her father and mother of this same parish on the other hand, having found no impediment to the marriage, I the undersigned Priest of this parish, have taken their mutual assent by word and declaration and have given them the nuptial benediction according to the form prescribed by our Holy Mother Church in the presence of Michel Circee and Etienne Bariteau, Jean Baptiste Giroux, father of the husband, Pierre François and Louis Giroux his brothers, and on behalf of the of the wife, Guillaume Baudin her uncle, Michel Dupuy her brother, François Dupuy and Jacques Tremblay her uncles; Beaudin and Circee signed, all the others with the husband and the wife do not know how to sign.
