I have been researching into my husbands family for a short time now, they moved to Newport, South Wales from Wolverhampton at the start of the 20th Century to find work in the iron and steel industry.William Henry Pumford his wife Elizabeth and 3 sons Joseph 22nd June 1892-1917, Albert, and William. The 3 boys all went to fight in the Great War and only William returned.
Joseph married Theodora (Dora) Edwards and they had 2 children Joseph John 1914-1983 and Elizabeth. William also married ? and had 2 sons Joseph and Albert. Joseph John married Patricia Hansen in 1937 and they had 5 children Doreen Patricia 1939,Valerie Mary 1942, Joseph John 1948, Bernard Patrick 1950, and Raymond William 1952.
If any of these names means anything to you please email me at the above address I would love to hear from you and maybe fill in the blanks.

The Pagintons also came to Newport at the beginning of the 20th Century. My Great Great Grandfather Fredrick Paginton 1879-1957 came to work in the lime kilns in Somerton, Newport after fighting in the Boer War. He joined Newport Provisions Market and worked his way up to become Market Superintendent. He worked through the Second World War and only retired when his deputy returned from active duty.He married Ellen Warren in 1899 and they had 13 children and raised 10.
