1. JOSEPH H.¹ KING was born 1790 in Virginia, and died 1855 in St. Louis, Missouri. He married RHODA TOWNSEND November 20, 1810 in Estill County, Kentucky ¹, daughter of GARRETT TOWNSEND. She was born 1790 in Estill County, Kentucky, and died 1884 in St. Louis, Missouri.

21 March 1810 - Note from Thomas Noland promise to pay Joseph King, Jr. for 60 pounds of merchantable gunpowder.

30 July 1815- Marriage bond for Jeremiah King and Nancy Forkner. Bond: Jeremiah King, Joseph H. King and Henry Forkner.

23 October 1815- deed. Joseph H. King and Wm. Simpson/ Samuel Combs/ James Clark for 100 acres
(a part of a large track of Robert Timber) on Calloway Creek begins at the corner to Josus Mize Price
"consideration and one dollar."

21 Feburary 1816- Estill Court Records. Wm. P. Lacey charges James Trimble with assault and battery. Sue for $100. Wit: Joseph H. King and John H. Poore.

11 March 1816- Estill Court Records. Summons for several men (Thomas Hightower etc.) vs./ Pickney Lacey and Cato his negro of stealing hay. Wit.: Joseph H. King.

09 March 1819- Deed. Book Pg. 266. Thomas Duckham of Frankfort & Joseph H. King of Estill, $50. sold a parcel of land on the moth of Sturgeon Creek of 600 acres. (Begins at Joseph Brandbough's lower corner.

27 November, 1820 deed between Hoseph H. King to John Burgan for $270. Parcel of 600 acres from Kentucky River and Joseph Brandenbaugh line. Signed by attorney, Thomas Champell for Josph H. King.

24 January 1850- Jasper Co., Missouri. Deed from Joseph and Rhoda King to Harrison Walker for $50. sold their land at the south east corner of the South east quarter section twenty seven of township eight 1 of range thirty two.

Know all Men by these presents that we Joseph King and Samuel Verser are held and firmly bound unto the commonwealth of Kentucky in the Just and full sum of fifty pounds to which payment well and truely to be made to the said commonwealth we bind ourselves, our heirs, to joinly and severly by these presents sealed and dated this day of November 1810 the condition of the above obligations such that whereas there is a Marriage shortly intended to be had and solemized between the above bound Joseph King and Rhoda Townsend of this county according to the rites and ceremonies required by the Law he the said King having complied with what the Law directs of the above oblgation to be void else remain in full force and virture.
