1. WILLIAM WITT / GUILLIAUME¹ DEWITT was born 1675 in France, and died June 1754 in Albermarle Co., VA. He married (1) ELIZABETH ?. He married (2) MILDRED OR MARY DAUX.

Notes for WILLIAM WITT / GUILLIAUME DEWITT:
As a Huguenot Refugee he was taken as a boy to England where he was known
as Gilliam DeWitt. In 1699 at the age of 24 he came to Virginia with his
brothe r, John Witt. They settled in Manakintown, Powhatan Co., VA.
William had la nd in Henrico Co., VA and Fluvanna Co., VA. on the north
side of the Rivanna River and on Tuckahoe Creek in Henrico Co., Va. One
record had his wife as E lizabeth and that they were buried in the old
Church of St. Anne's Parish. A nother said Mildred or Mary Daux and that
William's will was probated the 13 June 1754 in AlveMarle Co., VA
