TN aged 76, sol had enl in Johnston Co NC, sol stated he had children (9 boys & 7 girls), sol's son John Scalf, Jr. made aff'dt 17 July 1845 in Hawkins Co TN aged 54 & stated his father's father Lewis Scalf was of Wilkes Co NC & later moved to GA where he d aged over 100 yrs & he stated he (John, Jr.) & his wife had 14 children & 4 grandchildren & he stated he had two sisters Nancy & Polly older than he was & he stated his parents had 109 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren & that 1 of the female grandchildren was aged about 20 & he stated his father the Rev. sol John, Sr. had once lived in Russell Co VA, sol's daughter-in-law Patsey the wife of sol's son John Scalf, Jr. made aff'dt 17 Jul 1845 aged 46 & she stated she was raised in Russel Co VA & she gave the following names of the sol's children; Nancy Collins, Polly Trent, John Scalf, Jr., Britton Scalf, Dicy Williams, Betsey Collins, Berry Scalf, Ira Scalf Lee Scalf, Peter Scalf, Lydia Panter, Roert Scalf, Lela Lockard, Jesse Scalf & 2 named William Scalf both dec'd, in 1845 she stated sol's children had children towit; Nancy had 5, Polly had 11, John had 14, Britton had 19, Dicy had 10, Betsey had 1, Berry had 8, Ira had 7, Lee had 7, Peter had 4, Lydia had 5, Robert had 6, Lela had 4 & Jessee had 8, sol's daughter Polly Trent aged 56 was of Hawkins Co TN in 1845 & she then stated her father moved from Wilkes Co NC to Russell Co VA for several yrs then moved to KY then moved to Hawkins Co TN wid's name before marriage was Edy Carlisle & she & sol were m in Edgecomebe Co NC & sol d 10 Mar 1848 in Greene Co TN wid appl for BLW 4 Mar 1857 in Knox Co TN
