My family tree as far as we can search deadends at Clayton,co.,Iowa in 1847.My great great grandfather supposedly was born in Vermont in 1816 can not verify this at all.Moved to Iowa in 1847,married Dec.5,1850 had nine children ,wife was Rachael Philbrick of Madison co., Illinois this also has been verified from birth ,death ,and marriage records.According to 1860,1870,Iowa census John age makes him being born in 1816.We have found 1812,1813,1822 births of a John Putnam but not in 1816. So thats all Ihave.
