The Pymble family originally lived on the Lianfrother Manor Estate in Herefordshire from 1558 to 1899. They began as tenant farmers in 1558, later becoming owners of the farm estates and cottages. In 1861 Thomas Pymble acquired the manor house and parklands from John and Catherine Evans, selling them in 1899 to Joseph and Henry Parry, neighbours of Harewood Park. In 1821, Thomas' brother Robert arrived in Australia with his wife, Mary and their seven children. In 1823 Mary died and was one of the first to be buried in St. John's churchyard at Parramatta. Robert and his children moved in 1826 to the area which now bears his name. If anyone has any additional information to add to this page, please e-mail me.
