I am currently researching both my parents families. My mother's family is from Northeastern Pennsylvania, and I believe they came to the US around 1900 from Austria and Czechoslovakia. Their names are Howanitz and Elko. My father's family is from South Carolina and Georgia. I already have a good deal about my grandfather's family, Gilliard, from another relative's research. However, I have nothing on my grandmother. Her name is Mertice Davis, and she is from Southern Georgia, although she spent much of her life in Northern Florida. |
