He married (1) ELIZABETH (PEGGY) EVERHART 20 Nov 1823 in Stark County, Ohio. She died Bet. 1848 - 1850. He married (2) ELIZABETH (BETSY) CLIFTON 26 Oct 1850 in Lee, Iowa. She was born 01 Jan 1827 in Lavaco, Texas, and died 1866 in St. George, Utah.

Proven is the fact that Joseph Ebi, son of David Davis Ebi and brother of Sarah Salome, sold 20 acres of land to Jacob Henry Spangle and wife Sarah Salome in Dec of 1821 in Stark Co, Ohio where all resided at the time. Jacob Henry and Sarah Salome were married 10 Jul 1821 in Canton, Stark Co, Ohio. - Julia Brittain, Houston, Texas

Some places have Joseph born in Virginia, but I believe he was born in Pennsylvania and after his birth his father settled in Virginia, his children later believing their father was born in Virginia. Also the birthdate is frequently seen as 1792 but that is another Joseph Eby.
