Notes for JOHN C. EBY(8): MANSFIELD -- John C. Eby, 99, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born March 20, 1905, on Eby Road in Richland County, he was the son of Emanuel M. and Sophia (Ryland) Eby. He served as executive operator of four banks and retired in 1970 from Peoples Federal Savings and Loan. After his retirement, he practiced tax and investment counseling. John attended Ohio Northern University and took special studies at The Ohio State University. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church. He was a charter member of Charles Hoffman Lodge #767, F. & A.M. and prior to that was a Past Master of the Bellville Lodge F. & A.M. John was a 75-year member of Royal Arch Masons and Mansfield Council. He was a past member of Mansfield Civitan Club for 22 years. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Richard and Maralyn Eby of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Debra Ann Baker of Wooster and Douglas Edward Eby of Miami, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Justin Baker of the U.S. Navy and Jared Baker of Wooster; and sister, Mabel Wolf of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Janet L. (Boyer) Eby on November 24, 2004, and two sisters, Alma Shoup and Esther Fulk. Graveside services officiated by Rev. Cloyd Kress will be held Monday, March 21 at 2:30 p.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Diamond Street home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Monday from 1-2 p.m. with Masonic services at 2 p.m. |

Notes for JANET LUCILLE BOYER: MANSFIELD -- Janet Lucille Eby, 94, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Winchester Terrace. She was born in Burns, Oregon, on August 14, 1910, the oldest child of the late John C. and Sarah Boss Boyer. Her parents moved to Mansfield in 1914 and Janet was an area homemaker since that time. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1929. She was confirmed in the First English Lutheran Church and was an active member. An avid violinist, she was formerly an advisor for Mansfield Little Mozarts. She is survived by her husband, John C. Eby, whom she married in 1933 in the First English Lutheran Church; a son and daughter-in-law, John Richard and Maralyn Eby of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Debra Ann Baker of Wooster and Douglas Edward Eby of Miami, Florida; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Harriet Backus; and two brothers, Raymond Boyer and Marion Boyer. Graveside services will be held Monday, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Cloyd Kress.
