I started working on my family tree about 8 years ago.Although I've been successful in some areas there is still a lot to be found.I need info on the John David Quarles side of the family.I believe he came from Edgefield, SC but have found no relatives as yet. He lived in or around Savannah,Ga and owned a lumber yard after 1900 to 1910. Prior to that he is found in the 1900 census for Augusta,GA as John T. Quarles ( the wife & children all match. Married Lena A.Martin. I have no information on her.His son, my gr.father,Robert E.Quarles Sr.born Oct12,1897-died Oct.31,1962. He lived in Augusta SC where he met & married Alice Battle Tuggle.They lived in Florence,S.C. for over 40 yrs.Also looking for Byrd's from Hartsville & Darlington S.C.,MacKeiver & Coker's from same area. I was able to acquire a family tree book on the Byrd family descendants of William & Frances Byrd from about 1760's. I have a lot of info on Tuggle's(Tugwell) of Va./Ga., Battle's,& Carters in that family line.The Quarles family line was lost at the Civil War so I would be most intereted in finding that part of our lineage. Also looking for Newton's in North Carolina. Gr.grandfather was Charles Benjamin Newton married to Erla Elmira Smith.They lived in Gastonia, NC and had 11 children. Any help would be most appreciated. My husband's family is Esposito from NY. We have a some information on them as well as Bevilacqua's.If I can be of any help please E-mail me. |
