I am researching our extensive family from Puerto Rico and Spain. Have some relatives as far back as 7-9 generations...others just 3-4 back. In addition, I'm researching my husband's side of the family (from Barcelona area of Spain and from Caguas and Cayey, PR). Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. ---------------------------------------------------------Arroyo, Lopes (López)(early 1800s to present...from Lares and Aguada, PR); Torres, Gerena (early 1800s to present...Aguadilla-Lares-Utuado, PR), Rios (Río) Santiago (late 1800s -- Lares, PR), Santiago (mid-late 1800s -- Canary Islands and PR) Colon, Díaz (late 1800s -- Carolina, PR), Garcia de Quevedo (late 1800s Barcelona/Santander area of Spain and Cayey/Caguas/Vega Baja areas of Puerto Rico), Gonzalez (late 1800s -- Cayey, PR) Vidal, Vasquez, Melendez (late 1800s - present -- Cayey and Caguas, PR). Other last names from relatives dating back to early to mid 1800s: Sales, Acebedo (Acevedo), de Soto, de Medina, Mercado, Caldeira, Giménez, Cuebas (Cuevas), Perez Oms, and soooo many more... (Catholic roots, you know!!!) Also looking for: Paternal cousins Vargas-Arroyo relatives from Brooklyn, NY (1920s - present); Relatives of Paternal uncle: Julian Arroyo Lopes believed to have been born in PR around 1870s and possibly relocated to the Hawaiian islands towards the end of the century. |
