Nathaniel McClure (son of Alexander McClure and Martha Stinson) was born Jun 08, 1783 in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia7, and died Oct 16, 1851 in Wingate, Montgomery County, Indiana7. He married Mary Beaver on Sep 06, 1806 in Cynthiana, Harrison County, Kentucky, daughter of Mathias Beaver and Nancy Ann Coon.
Notes for Nathaniel McClure: Nathaniel McClure married Mary Beaver, daughter of a wealthy and industrious man. She was beautiful and talented. Mary died of typhoid fever October 16, 1841. Nathaniel contracted rheumatism while attending to his freighting business and suffered 8 years without walking. Just 10 years to the day after his wife's death, Nathaniel McClure died on October 16, 1851. They are buried in the Wingate Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Their daughter, Catherine McClure McKinney married Prestley Thompson (PT) McKinney
Nathaniel was of Scottish descent and a Revolutionary War soldier who served in the 18th US Volunteers. It was said that he rose to the rank of Col (see pension records of Virginia)
